[...] So a natural input API for an automatic timeline generator would be RSS: It has a title, a date, a description, a category (if you want to group events). It can even have a media object associated (audio, video, photo, PDF podcast). The programming part should be quite straightforward, but the graphical design is crucial: should be flexible and appealing. The output should be JPG/PNG or a dynamic Flash/AJAX application. Who’s gonna make it? If well done, it’s a ticket for TechCrunch! rss timeline tools tufte visualisation Web2.0Share and Enjoy:These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.
Whoa nice timing. I am trying to get AMW.com (American's Most Wanted) to pony up their missing persons database via RSS for the purpose of building a simple screen saver. No big deal, but essentially a Photofeed as well. Would be a nifty high profile example. Maybe you could give them a nudge as well? ;)

Dave Winer doesn't like it because it didn't come from him. Make sure you give him credit so he doesn't get mad about it though. He is sensitive to issues involving giving credit but that's usually just credit to him.

Actually, there is something like photofeeds with music. I called it Photocasting and just recently did ZDNet's first one. See <a HREF="http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=1665" rel="nofollow">Introducing ZDNet's 'PhotoCasts'</A> for more details and an example.
