[...] So I am totally interested in enrolling back into school and pursuing some type of serious career. Problem is I’m interested in so many things and just don’t know where to start. I made a list of some potential careers but each was missing a some feature I would like in the other. I was torn and at a crossroads. Well time is ticking and I need to make a decision by the deadline (haha, I said deadline!) so I decided to take a career personality test. I came across a few and took each one. The result was unanimous…I am an ENFP personality type (inspirer according to myers briggs champion according to Keirsey ). OMG, this explains sooooo much. But the relief I received from this self enlightenment would be brief . I excitedly clicked to see the suggested career paths saying “This is it!” If you could hear my smile turning into a frown it would sound something like this: whomp, whomp, whooooomp! On that list was all of my career choices and about 20 more. Grrrrr! What the heck should I do now? I like the suggestion to be a politician…look out Barack Obama…hehe. Hmmmm. Actor is on there too and ya’ll know I love me some cameras. But as much as I want the experience of dominating the movie scene I wish to make a profound impact on the world…somehow. I have lots of soul searching ahead. Please chime in with any thoughts. I am so not sure right now.(…to be continued) What personality type are you? Here is some information about the ENFP personality type here. To find out more about your career personality click here. Or simply do a search for career personality test. Or read this very insightful blog here.
I have been studying personality types the last few years, and believe i am an INFJ. However, every now and then i come out differently on tests. Often it is a toss-up between INFJ and INFP. So i am really unsure on which on i really am....
Does anyone have any ideas on how to tell the difference because i have also noticed there is a lot of overlap between the two.

I'm an ESTP. I'm the doer, but ESTPs can get bored easily while working on the same project for a long time. That is why it is a miracle that I have written a book on Myers-Briggs and marriage. If you are interested, it can be purchased on Amazon.com. The title is "The Type of Marriage that Endures." I hope you enjoy it.

I am an ENFP, and this test helped me in change my life in more positive ways than I can list, but primarily in finding a career that was appropriate for me. I kept wondering why I became so depressed and dramatically unhappy in office/desk type job situations, why I was able to generate so many ideas and be so creative, but have trouble carrying them to completion. I figured out that these were not things which were "wrong" with me per se, only that I needed to play more on the many amazing strengths of and ENFP, and stop putting myself in situations where my stregths would be blocked or not put to use. It seems obvious, but I never understood it in the detailed and organized way that myers-briggs lays it out. Of course it helped me in all my relationships, and activities in other areas of life as well. I'm so grateful I discovered it!

It's called Myers-Briggs because two women worked in conjunction to write it: isabel Briggs-Myers and Katherine Briggs, her mother.

I am an ENFP also. I took the Myers-briges for a one credit college course and I loved it. It made sence to me and helped me understand my strengths as well as my weaknesses. I made my husband take it also and he is an ENFP also! Made sence once he took it. It was weird reading the trates of me and made me see myself in a whole new light. I work with children. I am a teacher for early childhood so my loving fun nature is apreciated by the children. I always looked at my job as a reason for me never to grow up but after taking this I realize it is my personality too! Who knew LOL!

Congrats to that last comment! I'm in the same boat. I've had an IT job with the military for 4 years now. Over the past two I have dreamed day and night of a more creative lifestyle. Just recently I discovered that I'm an ENFP. Now I realize that this is not the career for me and I'll probably never be happy with this job.
I do find it quite funny that we're all into letting someone tell us about ourselves like they know us. It seems to kind of go against the "ENFP" description, but everything I've researched seems to be spot on, even the negative characteristics.
I can't follow through to save my life...

I have known that I am an ENFP for a few years now but have not really followed my passion for many varied reasons and excuses. This year I have decided that I must do this as my life is for a reason and for a definate purpose... just that the actual reson and purpose has been escaping me! I was stuck (and to a degree still am) in an Engineering job but it was only to serve the purpose of wealth or the opportunity to say "I'm an Engineer" (what absolute BS!!!) My purpose now is to follow a journey of authenticity, service, exploration, and heart. ENFPs are champions of change but unfortunately there is only 3% of the world made up of us. TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE and help, change and grow within the challenge! Journey... NOT destination!

I'm also an ENFP, by virtue of our type, we seem to be likely to take these kind of tests, because there seem to be alot of us that hang around on the internet and discuss these type of things, far more than the average prevalence in the population anyway.
I've heard ENFPs tend to take jobs in psychology, ministry, diplomacy, the entertainment industry, journalism. There are websites that have most common jobs by type. By the nature of ENFP, which have diverse groups, the potential job market is very open.
